50% Of Americans Have No Idea What To Do With Their 401k

Recently I came across an article that stated “Half of Americans Have No Idea What to Do With Their 401k”.

Yep, I had to think about that one too - 50% sure is a lot of 401k investors and a lot of capital that’s wandering about without a plan to grow efficiently.  If you have friends interesting in getting out of the "49%" share our content using the buttons below!

The Report was titled “Report on the Economic Well Being of U.S. Households in 2015” and here is a link to the PDF.  The report is a bit dated, but I think it is safe to assume that their findings probably didn’t change much in the past year.

The article cited data from a Federal Reserve report stating 49 percent of adults with self-directed retirement accounts (401k, IRA, Roth IRA, accounts etc.) are either “not confident” or only “slightly confident” in their ability to make the right investment decisions.

Can the 49% be blamed for not having the knowledge to manage their retirement money?  After all, at least when I was in college, they didn’t teach us about 401k investing.   Heck, even if 401k investing was taught in school, nowadays most people are too busy to keep up with the latest market developments or investment strategies to even make an educated investment decision.

It was these very reasons we decided to start this blog.  The 401k Newsletter is about helping people make better investment decisions and doing it in an efficient time saving format.

If you’re one of the 49% or catch yourself wondering if you are making the "right" decisions and would like additional insight about making more informed investment decisions, look at the top right corner of this webpage and sign up!
